About the Job

As a Residential Driver, you will operate heavy-duty trucks and are responsible for the collection of residential household waste. You will transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycle facility when your truck has reached the legal load capacity. Safe driving is crucial as you will maneuver your truck in residential environments and navigate high traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots.

What Does It Take to be a Driver at Wolf Disposals?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit as a Residential Driver.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with an air-brake endorsement.
  • 1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

What You’ll Do

To be successful as a residential driver, you will be expected to perform the following tasks:

  • Operate truck in accordance with WOLF DISPOSALS Safety Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Pre- and post-trip inspections of your truck and document checks using the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
  • Immediately report all unsafe situations or service-related issues to your Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attend and participate in training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by Wolf Disposals or directed by your Route Manager.
  • Communicate customer requests to your Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris. 
  • Follow your route assignments and completes end of day documentation / check out process.
  • Perform duties as scheduled by your Route Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers to meet customer needs.

  • Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
  • You will manage objects more than 50 pounds frequently. 
  • You will have to push, pull, bend, twist and lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a video/GPS monitored vehicle.
  • You will be in a physical, outdoor environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.

About the Job


As a Driver Helper, you will team up with Route Driver and assists in the collection of Waste and /or Recyclable material.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. 

  • Works in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws.
  • Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by Waste Management or directed by the Route Manager.
  • Manually or mechanically load and empty residential and/or commercial containers into truck.
  • Containers maybe staged curbside, dockside, carryout, or require pullout to complete service.
  • Operates hoisting device to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hopper.
  • Assists driver with all backing maneuvers while on route.
  • Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
  • Notifies Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicates customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager
  • Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assisting other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

This job has no supervisory duties.

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

  • Education: Not Required.
  • Experience: Six (6) months of relevant work experience is desired but not required. 
  • No CDL Required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

  • Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
